Why My Alternate Life?
I grew up with the misconceived idea that I would go to university, get a killer job right out of school, and spend the rest of my life travelling, buying whatever I want, and generally living the life that had been promised to me since I was still refusing to play with Barbies. Unfortunately, due to something called reality, that lifestyle is not an option.
So far, I’ve done everything “right” in life. I’ve gone to a good school and gotten a degree that promised a job after, I worked throughout said education to minimize my student loans, I got a job right away, etc etc. Even though I’ve made the “right” decisions, I’ve still ended up in a pile of debt, which has put my ideal lifestyle out of reach.
Instead, I’m living my alternate lifestyle, which includes a loving husband, a hypo-allergenic cat, a quirky shelter dog, and a whole lot of debt from the previously mentioned university education. But that’s ok, because while I’m committed to eradicating my debt quickly, I’ve also got a life to live, and I plan on making that life as awesome as possible, just without the expensive clothes and massive house.
